King P-234

King
Zantanon - Little Joe X Jabalina - Strait horse
1932 - 1958; AQHA - P-234

What can I say about King? One of the great foundation sires of the American Quarter Horse, his influence is still seen today. King is on the AQHA's All Time Leading Sires list & has been inducted into the [respective] Hall[s] of Fame by the AQHA, NCHA & the NRHA.

This great bay horse was line bred to Traveler 3X4, Sykes Rondo 4X5X4 and Locks Rondo 5X5.

Zantanon
Little Joe - Traveler X Jeanette - Billy

Often under questionable management, this tough bay horse was referred to as the "Mexican Man O War". After his racing career, Zantanon changed hands & was brought across the border to change/influence the direction of the American Quarter Horse forever.

LITTLE JOE
Traveler X Jenny - Sykes Rondo
1905 1929;  pre-AQHA

Little Joe was by Traveler and out of a linebred Old Billy mare. At one time owned by George Clegg, for many years he was owned & used as a breeding stallion by Ott Adams.

Traveler

Travler
1885 [?] - 1910
pre-AQHA

Traveler was a 'mystery' horse. The story goes that a horseman found him being used as a dray horse on the rail road line. Talent was seen & the traces were lifted. Traveler went on to be a noted race horse on the bush tracks. Almost a century later, his mark as a sire is still obvious. He was inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame in 1994.
