"Pedigree foundations" is a project I started a bit ago. At first, the thought was to put together a photo pedigree for my stallion & a few of the broodmares. If nothing else, it would be a way to stay awake while I was sitting up with foaling mares. It was just supposed to be a few pics... well, we've passed the 'few' stage. In case you haven't noticed, it's progressed beyond that point and seems to have taken on a life of it's own!

In these pages, you'll find a collection of pictures & descriptions of some of the more notable Thoroughbreds & Quarter Horses in our herd's pedigrees. [Odds are, they probably appear in your horses' families, too.]

You might have come to this site by way of our "Cloughrinka Stables". If not, feel free to use the link. It should take you safely there & you'll be able to view our horses,- the result of crossing these lines.

Please, make yourself comfortable while you consider these old "greats".

Let's put some faces to the names.........

As you read our herd pedigrees, you'll often notice a commonality,- certain names just keep reappearing. Although this wasn't necessarily intentional, it shows that a certain "type" of horse appeals to us.

On this site, I've posted pictures of some of the horses of the past who influence our breeding program at Cloughrinka, today. These horses can all be found in the pedigrees of our stallion, Mr JB Dude [pictured below], &/or our broodmares. See any similarities with the "modern" product?

This site will be updated frequently,- at least that's the intention. Please be patient.

Most of these photos have been collected from books, old magazines & various sites on the internet. Several of them are also from old stud service ads. Thank you to the people & organizations that have made them available.

If you see errors in any of the information here,- please email corrections. The help will be greatly appreciated!

Above is a photo of our stallion, Mr JB Dude, & yours truly at the 2001 NFPA Labor Day circuit, Jackson County Agricultural Center, Marianna, Florida. It was a good day! [Thanks, as always, goes to our favorite photographer, Steve Sessions of Sylacuaga, AL.] JB is a PHBA Performance Champion, earning over 500 points in 12 events. I hope you visit our site, Cloughrinka Stables, to see more of him & his foals.

Since this site is dedicated to Quarter Horse pedigree reseach, I've added his, below. On these pages, you'll see lines attributed to some of our broodmares, too.

This site... all this pedigree research... the collection of photos & stories... this is all, primarily, JB's fault. I hope he appreciates it!
